Concord, N.H. - Today, the New Hampshire Democratic Party continues to mark this week's anniversary of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act by highlighting another way in which Kelly Ayotte sided with special interests like the Koch Brothers over the interests of working women in New Hampshire.

Since going to Washington, Ayotte has turned her back on the working women of the Granite State and voted FOUR separate times against the Paycheck Fairness Act, a common-sense measure to close the wage gap between men and women. To cover her tracks, she introduced a sham bill that would create loopholes to allow employers to prohibit discussion of wages and make it more likely that employers would get off the hook for paying women less.

'Women across the U.S. make an average of 79 cents on the dollar compared to men for full-time work, but Kelly Ayotte has voted time and time again to appease her special interest backers and against taking common-sense steps to close the wage gap,' said New Hampshire Democratic Party Press Secretary Melissa Miller. 'And to add insult to injury, she is attempting to hide from her record on this issue by touting a piece of legislation that would actually create loopholes to allow employers to prohibit discussion of wages. New Hampshire working women and the families that rely on their incomes deserve a Senator who will fight for them, not the Koch Brothers.'
