NRS credits its transformation on exceeding its first-ever major gift initiative campaign by raising $270,682. The three-year campaign focused on building the depth and breadth of services.

"First Nonprofit Foundation, United Airlines, Steve and Rosemary Mack and nearly sixty other major donors invested in our future," said Maureen Blaha NRS executive director. "Their generosity has transformed the way we help families in crisis. NRS is now positioned with the technology and space to better meet the needs of runaway and homeless youth."

The National Runaway Safeline, formerly known as the National Runaway Switchboard, established in 1971, serves as the federally-designated national communication system for runaway and homeless youth. Through its crisis hotline (1-800-RUNAWAY) and online services (1800RUNAWAY.org), NRS provides crisis intervention, referrals to local resources, and education and prevention services to youth, families and community members throughout the country.
