Due to the current circumstances and the inability of international oil companies to return to resume their activities because of the ongoing events through which Libya and the international oil sector go, and considering the prices slump, NOC called for meetings with International Oil Companies working in Libya in order to agree on arrangements through which the impacts arising from such circumstances shall be mitigated.
A meeting was held with Tatneft, the Russian Company, on Tuesday 12 January, 2016. Messrs. Mustafa Sanalla, NOC Chairman of the Board of Directors, Abulgasem Shengheer, Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Exploration and Production Department in addition to a number of NOC managers attended the meeting. Mr. Rafael Yabbaarov, the General Manager of Tatneft, Libya Branch attended the meeting representing Tatneft Company.
The two Parties discussed the mutual relations, ways to overcome the current circumstances and support cooperation relations between the Parties.
