Akin Gump international trade partner Suzanne Kane has been profiled by National Law Journal as a 2021 Rising Star in Washington, D.C.

In the profile, Kane discusses some of her most pivotal client successes including securing important tariff exclusions for a major automaker regarding imported steel products used to manufacture vehicles in the United States, ultimately, saving the client of millions of dollars. Kane, who previously served as senior attorney-advisor at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), also represented a U.S. solar battery charger manufacturer in response to a highly complex CBP investigation regarding its compliance with tariffs and Antidumping and Countervailing Duties, tariff classification and customs valuation.

Last year, Kane was appointed co-chair of the Association of Women in International Trade's (WIIT) Supply Chains section, which host various events on international trade issues, featuring distinguished representatives from the private and public sector. Learn more here.
