The National Biodiesel Foundation directors elected Rob Shaffer as a new board member when they met last week in Fort Worth. Rob is a fourth-generation soybean, corn and Angus cattle farmer in El Paso, IL. Rob has provided leadership to multiple farm organizations including his service on the Illinois Soybean Association Board of Directors since 2010 and the American Soybean Association since 2017. He has also been with NBB for five years. Other topics discussed at the meeting were: the Beth Calabotta Sustainability Grant to be launched this spring; the NYC Congressional Biodiesel Tour on March 23; and the fall Sustainability Workshop. NBF directors awarded grants to Iowa Renewable Fuels Association and the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities.
