Minister of Industry and Trade Jiøí Cienciala informed the hetman of the Ústí nad Labem Region, Oldøich Bubeníèek and his deputies on the implementation of measures to help the Moravian-Silesian region, which also apply to Usti nad Labem region.

Minister Jiøí Cienciala started working as a government Plenipotentiary for Moravian-Silesian and Ústí nad Labem Regions

ON 23 JANUARY 2014 THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE JIØÍ CIENCIA£A OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED THE ACTIVITIES OF THE GOVERNMENT PLENIPOTENTIARY ÚSTÍ NAD LABEM BY MEETING WITH THE HETMAN OF THE USTI REGION AND REPRESENTATIVES OF MAJOR EMPLOYERS AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL OF THE ÚSTÍ REGION. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE MEETING WAS TO CLARIFY THE MOST IMPORTANT TOPICS FOR NEGOTIATIONS WITH MINISTRIES TO HELP THE USTI REGION.

"I am convinced that the cooperation with Ústí region will be very good. I appreciate that leaders of the region have a fairly clear idea of what the region needs in particular areas. My job now is to help them solve these problems" said the Minister Jiøí Cienciala.

Minister Jiøí Cienciala informed the hetman of the Ústí Region Oldøich Bubeníèek and his deputies on the implementation of measures to help the Moravian-Silesian region that were approved by the government last September and that also apply to Usti nad Labem Region. He also announced that the government last week approved more money to help these two regions. The amount of 300 million EUR is determined for the implementation of the Development Program Support for regions of the Ministry of Regional Development, namely to create new jobs in the Moravian-Silesian and Ústí nad Labem regions.

Another topic of the visit of the Government Plenipotentiary in Ústí nad Labem was problems of chemical companies, which employ over five thousand people. Jiøí Cienciala debated with representatives of major regional employers in the chemical industry such as Lovochemie, Unipetrol and Spolchemie, about the lack of experts. There were also discussed ways on how to improve the transport infrastructure in addition to support the education in the region.

During the day-long visit Jiøí Cienciala also met with representatives of other regional institutions such as the Regional Chamber of Commerce, Employment Pact and the Economic and Social Council. They informed him about the biggest problems of the region and offered ways on how to solve them in cooperation with the ministries and other institutions. All agreed that the Government Resolution No. 732 to help the Moravian-Silesian and Usti Region managed to implement some of the measures, but it is necessary to go on.

A position of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Moravian-Silesian and Ústí nad Labem regions was created to follow up the government's resolution of 25 September of the last year to address the critical economic situation in the Moravian-Silesian and partly also the Usti region and on the basis of the Government´s Resolution of 11 December 2013.
