Washington, D.C. - Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) released the following statement regarding the U.S. Department of the Interior's (DOI) five-year Draft Proposed Program for Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing. In August of last year, Johnson joined 154 members of the House and Senate in sending a letter to DOI Secretary Zinke advocating for a new five-year plan that recognizes the benefits of oil and gas in the quest for energy dominance.

Johnson released the following statement:

'The Trump administration's decision to allow enhanced exploration, leasing and development within the Outer Continental Shelf, previously closed to such activities, prioritizes home-grown energy production and puts the United States one step closer to achieving energy dominance. I look forward to the many benefits Louisiana and other coastal states will see from this all-of-the-above energy strategy.'
