Markley Group, universally recognized as a world class mission-critical telecommunications and data center operator, today announced that it has built another cross connect room on the fifth floor of One Summer Street in Boston, MA. The addition of a new cross connect room will provide customers with the ability to get fully diverse connectivity from its 80+ carriers within the building.

The Markley Group managed cross connect facilities enable its customers to purchase unlimited bandwidth at wholesale costs and connect directly to any carrier or enterprise, as well as to Markley Group's Infrastructure as a Service offering, "Markley Cloud Services." Our secure connection rooms allow carriers to hand off fiber, and other medium, which is terminated in the cross connect facilities and then extended securely to Markley Group customers. Since most carriers have a presence at the One Summer Street facility, there is no need for final mile costs. By eliminating the local loop, telecom costs are reduced by 25 percent or more and Markley Group customers benefit from those savings

"At the Markley Group, we pride ourselves on delivering the highest level of customer service in the industry. Our mission-critical infrastructure is second to none and supports the most demanding customers," said Jeffrey D. Markley, CEO of Markley Group. "With the addition of our new cross connect room, our customers have the ability to further harden their networks and add a level of diversity and redundancy that is consistent with the services we provide."

The new high density cross connect room is located on the fifth floor, and is completely redundant of Markley Group's fourth floor cross connect room. This room provides diversity throughout the building through integrated network cabling utilizing cutting edge optical cabling. Each frame in the cross connect room will hold 3,100 strands of fiber and will have abundant trough space to minimize fiber pile up and congestion, simplifying moves, adds and changes.

The Quareo Cross Connect Frame (Q-Frame) system that has been installed has a built-in patch cord storage panel which simplifies frame installation and an intuitive cable routing system with no fiber cross-over points. This reduces maintenance time and bend radius protection at every turn, ensuring network performance and reliability.
