Kay Kirkpatrick, M.D. (fifth from the left) is running for Georgia's 6th District Senate seat. Dr. Kirkpatrick serves as a regional coordinating physician in the Medical Association of Georgia's Medical Reserve Corps (MAG MRC).

MAG MRC Medical Director John S. Harvey, M.D. (sixth from right) says that, 'Dr. Kirkpatrick is passionate about the MAG MRC mission, so I am confident she will work with other lawmakers to ensure we have a coordinated effort to respond to disasters and public health outbreaks in state.'

Dr. Kirkpatrick will be running in a special election, though the date of the election is pending.

The 6th District includes parts of Atlanta, Marietta, Sandy Springs, and Smyrna.
