WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today,Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement regarding the signing of a trade agreement between the U.S. and China.

'The President's trade deal with China is great news for American farmers, manufacturers and energy producers. With Missouri being made up of two-thirds farmland and home to a thriving auto industry, our already strong economy will continue to approve. I'm extremely grateful that we have a President willing to address China's hostile trade policies head on and even the playing field for our workers and exporters.'

Background: In this historic trade agreement between the U.S. and China, China has agreed to increase its U.S. imports -- specifically agriculture, manufactured goods, services, and energy - by at least $200 billion over the next two years.
