New 6.3x32 Size Fuse Has 1000VAC/1000VDC Rating and High Interrupting Capacity

2012-01-17 09:00:00

CHICAGO, Illinois, Jan 17, 2012 -Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS:LFUS), today introduced its new 1A Fuse in the existing 508 Series Fuse family, a 6x32mm-size ceramic-body Fuse designed for high energy 1000VAC/1000VDC applications.

The design of the new 508 Series 1A Fuse ensures the Fuse will open quickly and safely to protect compact circuits and equipment. It has an interrupting capacity of up to 10kA at 1000VAC/1000VDC, yet the Fuse size is only 6x32mm and also available in pigtail version. These advantages are in line with the market trend of smaller footprints for electronic designs intended for use with high energy levels.

The new 1A Fuse joins the 315mA and 500mA Fuses that were released in 2010. The 508 Series Fuses are available in both cartridge and pigtail versions, and they are now 100 percent lead-free and compliant with RoHS requirements. The 508 Series Fuses are recognized under the component programs of the UL and CSA agencies.

Littelfuse, the leader in fuse technology, provides a comprehensive range of products and solutions that provide overcurrent protection for any electronic application. With more than 80 years of experience in building and supplying overcurrent protection products, Littelfuse is dedicated to providing application expertise and support that meets or exceeds customers' needs.
