DE PERE, Wis. and CHESTER, N.J., Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Jordan L. Kimmel has been named the new chief market strategist for KCD Financial Inc., a De Pere, Wisc.-based fully introducing broker/dealer and State Registered Investment Advisor that is majority-owned by Freedom Securities, Inc.

In his new position, Kimmel's responsibilities include providing guidance to the firm's nationwide network of independent brokers and their clients on relative risk and opportunities in the capital markets. He will also personally manage individual accounts.

Kimmel has spent more than 25 years in the capital markets, managing portfolios and providing guidance to clients, brokers and the media during periods of market gyration. Prior to joining KCD Financial, Kimmel served as chief market strategist and portfolio manager for other national independent brokerage firms. From 1997 to 2009, he was president of the Magnet Investment Group, LLC, an independent firm that managed proprietary funds and served as a sub-advisor to other prominent investment firms. During that time, the MAGNET® Stock Selection Process was licensed to John Nuveen and Co., which issued "GEMS" Unit Investment Trusts that applied the Magnet process to several different indices. Earlier in his career, Kimmel was a first vice president at Dean Witter and an account executive at Paine Webber, and at A.G. Edwards.

"Jordan's unique insight into market-moving events and deep understanding of the financial and other issues that drive markets make him a valuable, welcomed addition to our team," said Joel Blumenschein, KCD Financial president and chief executive officer. "Investors who already benefit from our personal service and risk analysis now have the additional advantage of Jordan's market analysis, trading strategies and investment acumen."

In addition to KCD Financial, Freedom's other holdings include Freedom Investors Corp., another Wisc.-based fully introducing broker/dealer and State Registered Investment Advisor, and Freedom Insurance Solutions, an insurance brokerage.

"I am thrilled to join KCD Financial, a Midwestern firm with Midwestern values, and a well-deserved reputation as a premier provider of advice and service that meet the needs of investors," said Kimmel, who will remain based in Chester, N.J. "I look forward to adding my expertise and knowledge base to KCD's professionals that seek to generate strong risk/return results for investors. I also believe it is imperative to be associated with trusted firms like KCD Financial and Freedom Investors, which are members of FINRA and have accounts that are insured by SIPC."

Kimmel has been a frequent guest on CNBC and Fox Business News, and hosts his own weekly radio show, Magnet Investing with Jordan Kimmel on the VoiceAmerica Business Network. He also hosts a second show on that network titled Trust Across America(TM) that discusses the factors needed to restore trust in business. He authored Magnet Investing and The Magnet Method of Investing: Find, Trade, and Profit from Exceptional Stocks, (Wiley, 2009). In 2013, the well-known Stock Trader's Almanac dedicated its 46(th) annual edition to Kimmel.

Kimmel also co-founded Trust Across America (www.trustacrossamerica.com), an initiative to rebuild trust in business. In connection with that role, Kimmel helped develop and trademark a quantitative methodology to identify "the most trustworthy companies in America," called FACTS®, that analyzes companies, both quantitatively and qualitatively, in five key areas of trustworthy behavior.
