Essen/Brussels, January 31, 2017. ista is a new member of the European Parliamentary Network on Energy Solutions in Brussels. The aim of 'Energy Solutions' is to find holistic solutions for the European Energy Union in dialogue with EU parliamentarians and industry representatives. ista will contribute its expertise as an energy efficiency service provider in the building sector.

'Energy efficiency is an important pillar of a sustainable European energy policy,' says Thomas Zinnöcker, ista's CEO. Buildings account for 40 % of all energy consumed in the EU. In the housing sector, heat and hot water make up 85 % of a household's total energy consumption. With over 218 million households in the EU, the savings potential is correspondingly great. Even small changes in the residents' behaviour can significantly improve the energy efficiency of a building and so make an important contribution to climate protection. 'However, for this to work, it is crucial that the residents have sufficiently transparent information about their energy consumption and the associated costs. Here it is question of developing innovative, sustainable and above all cost-effective solutions,' Zinnöcker continues. 'Energy Solutions is just the right platform for that.'

'We are delighted to have ista as a new member of Energy Solutions. The company offers considerable experience in the field of energy efficiency,' says Morten Helveg Petersen, MEP and Vice President of the European Parliament Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. Further members of 'Energy Solutions' are Danfoss, EDF, GE, Grunfoss, Microsoft, Siemens and Vestas.
