(Alliance News) - Industrial production and retail sales improved monthly in Ireland in November, the Central Statistics Office reported Tuesday.

Production in manufacturing industries rose 2.6% month-on-month on a seasonally adjusted basis in November, but over the months of September to November, production fell by 12% compared to the previous three-month period.

On an annual and seasonally adjusted basis, production in manufacturing industries fell by 31% in the three months from September to November, compared to the same period a year prior.

Quarter-on-quarter, turnover in manufacturing industries edged up 0.6%.

The unadjusted production index improved to 184.3 points in November from 181.2 in October, but was below 266.6 in November 2022. The unadjusted turnover index rose to 164.3 points in November from 150.0, but stayed below 178.5 points a year before.

Seasonally adjusted, the production index rose to 140.5 points in November from 136.9 in October, but was below 204.5 points in November 2022. The seasonally adjusted turnover index improved to 144.6 points in November from 140.4 in October but was lower than 157.2 points a year before.

Meanwhile, the volume of retail sales rose 0.2% in November from October and was 0.8% higher than a year ago. The largest annual volume growth was in other retail sales with 16%, followed by motor trades which was up 7.0%.
