Infineum International Limited has today announced the establishment of its entity in India, Infineum India Additives Private Limited (IIAPL), based in Mumbai.

As the third largest lubricants market globally, and with one of the world's largest automotive industries, India is viewed by Infineum as a dynamic hub for continued international growth and expansion. The office, which is now officially open at The Capital, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai, will provide marketing support and business development for Infineum in India.

IIAPL will be headed by S K Raghuram - Country Director.

The Indian government announced its intention earlier this year to implement Bharat Standard (BS)-VI emission norms, equivalent to Euro-VI specifications by April 1, 2020 in response to rising air pollution in the country. India currently has Bharat Stage-III implemented across the country and BS-IV in major cities. BS-IV will be adopted pan-India from April 2017.

'India is undoubtedly one of the most rapidly expanding and dynamic fuel and lubricant markets, and one that holds an enormous amount of opportunity for our customers', commented Aldo Govi, Executive Vice President, Sales. 'Today's announcement marks the next stage in the implementation of the Infineum strategy in Asia and further consolidates our long-term relationships with customers in India and the wider region.'

Trevor Russell, CEO of Infineum, added: 'As a global leader in the transportation additives industry, Infineum is committed to helping our customers meet their aspirations to grow and to provide leading edge technology in all emerging geographies in the world.

'As India grows further and as lubricant qualities upgrade, Infineum will now be better positioned to help customers achieve their growth aspirations in this country.'
