JAKARTA, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Indonesia's white sugar output is seen at around 2.3 million metric tons this year, below the government's target, as dry weather hits harvests, a sugar mills group said on Tuesday.

Indonesia had aimed to raise white sugar output by 8.3% to 2.6 million tons for this year from 2.4 million tons produced in 2022.

However drought has caused lower sugarcane production, despite a higher yield, resulting in less white sugar produced overall, said executive director of Indonesian Sugar Association, Budi Hidayat. (Reporting by Bernadette Christina)
