INEA Innovation and Executive Agency : Pre-publication of the CEF Telecom Work Programme 2017

Today the European Commission has pre-published the draft CEF Telecom Work Programme 2017, which outlines the general objectives, priorities and expected impacts of the actions that will be supported in the field of Digital Service Infrastructures.

The document is made public just before the adoption process of the work programme to provide potential participants with the currently expected main lines of the work programme 2017. The adoption and the publication of the work programme by the Commission are expected by mid February 2017. Only the adopted work programme will have legal value.

CEF Digital Services Infrastructures are the elementary units required by the Digital Single Market to meet the needs of businesses and citizens in their cross-border activities.

In 2017 the Digital Service Infrastructures launched in the past three years will be expanded. Support will be provided in 2017 for activities related to:

- eIdentification and eSignature

- Electronic Exchange of Social Security Information (EESSI)

- Business Registers Interconnection System (BRIS)

- European e-Justice Portal

- Cyber Security

- eDelivery

- eProcurement

- eHealth

- eInvoicing

- Europeana

- Automated Translation

- Public Open Data

The information on the call for proposals will be public and shared on the website of the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) which manages them and follows up the technical and financial implementation of the projects.

Background

CEF Telecom, in its part dedicated to the digital services infrastructure deployment, is designed to deploy this infrastructure across the EU, based on mature technical and organisational solutions to support exchanges and collaboration between citizens, businesses and public authorities. CEF Telecom focuses on providing functioning services which are ready to be deployed and which will be maintained over time, as opposed to developing pilots or technologies.

The vision for CEF Telecom is that by 2020 it will deliver concrete benefits to citizens, businesses and administrations across the EU through mutually reinforcing and complementary digital service infrastructures and broadband networks, making the Digital Single Market more effective and contributing to economic growth.
