'My mother was seventeen when she and my father chose life. I was born in 1976, just three years after the Supreme Court told women like my mother it was legal to end their pregnancies.
During this time-when the value of human life was cheapened by the courts and society was telling my mother, as an unmarried teen, that the rest of her life was more important than me- I am thankful to her for choosing life.
I am here today because my parents chose life. An obvious point to make, yet it serves as a reminder of what it means to be pro-life. To stand for the sanctity and value of every human life both born and pre-born, is the least we can do as Americans. After all, our founding fathers enshrined that very value in our Constitution ensuring every person the right to life. It is our duty to defend life at every stage, especially for those who cannot speak for themselves.'
