On Wednesday morning, DEVE Members will discuss with the Croatian Presidency priorities for the EU in the field of humanitarian aid. Wednesday afternoon (14.30-17.00), the committee will hold a public hearing on effectiveness, efficiency and results of EU aid for sustainable development with experts, including the Co-Chair of the Global Partnership of Effective Development Cooperation, OECD DAC Chair Susanna Moorehead, Vitalice Meja of the network 'Reality of Aid Africa' and Jean-Letitia Saldanha of the European Network on Debt and Development.
Following the hearing, current and forthcoming challenges in the EU development cooperation will be debated with Jutta Urpilainen, the new EU development commissioner.
On Thursday morning, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism will be on the agenda and MEPs will discuss current challenges in development cooperation withe CONCORD, the development NGOs platform.
The meeting will take place in Paul Henri Spaak, room 5B001 and will be web-streamed live.
