"Hanmi Celebrates the Coming of 2013 with its 33rd Blood Donation Campaign"

Campaign kicked-off with 227 employee participants

Hanmi began the New Year with its 33rd blood donation campaign.

The two-day campaign for all Hanmi employees commenced with the first working day of 2013. Donor blood collection took place simultaneously in Hanmi's Seoul headquarter, Dong-tan Research Center in Kyunggi-do, Paltan and Pyung-taek sites, and in Cheon-Ahn training center where Hanmi's sales force is stationed.

227 employees volunteered for this year's campaign.

Hanmi's blood giving campaign began in 1981 and is the longest standing community-oriented campaign amongst Korean pharmaceutical companies. Collected transfusion certificates are donated to organizations in need of blood supply.

Over 33 years, a total of 3,941 employees were seen participating in the campaign. In terms of volume it is equivalent to 1,261,120 cc of blood (considering 320cc/volunteer), sufficient in aiding 11,823 members of our community in need of blood transfusion.

In 2012, Hanmi was awarded a plaque of recognition from Red Cross in appreciation of Hanmi's 30 years of long-term dedication in promoting volunteered blood donations.

Hanmi's executive director, Jong-Ho Lim has said, "As a responsible corporate citizen, we persisted for over 30 years in promoting the campaign out of a strong sense of corporate duty in upholding the nation's health and well-being. To further promote the culture of sharing within our organization, we have plans to expand the magnitude of the campaign and aim for participation from even more employees."
