HB Grandi hf. : Highlighting corporate social responsibility - HB Grandi joins Festa

HB Grandi has joined Festa, Icelandic Center for Corporate Social Responsibility. CEO Vilhjálmur Vilhjálmsson and Festa's managing director Ketill B Magnússon completed an agreement to this end at the close of a well-attended seminar organised by Festa and the Confederation of Icelandic Employers (SA).

'It has always been a key issue for HB Grandi that its activities should be in line with social responsibility. We feel that we run the company well, we want our employees to be satisfied and engaged in their work and to know we all work for the society that we are a part of,' commented HB Grandi CEO Vilhjálmur Vilhjálmsson.

Ketill B Magnússon of Festa welcomed the decision to add HB Grandi to the group of companies which have joined Festa, and the first fisheries company to join the group.

'There are significant opportunities in embracing the ideas behind social responsibility and this is in line with the company's policies on the social and environmental factors of its activities,' Ketill B Magnússon said.
