Greyrock Energy : Announces Flare-to-Fuels System

Greyrock announced availability of its Flare-to-Fuels system for the reduction or elimination of routine gas flaring. Using Greyrock's Direct Fuel Production™ technology, the Flare to Fuels system converts gas sources, including natural gas, natural gas liquids, stranded gas and associated gas, into liquid transportation fuels. The system is designed for installation at well pads or other production facilities, and principally targets the conversion of associated gas that would otherwise be flared to clean fuels.

Associated gas is gas produced from reservoirs together with oil during the production of crude oil. In many cases, it is flared due to technical, economic or other constraints. Flared gas produces CO2, NOx, black carbon (soot), and other pollutants. The World Bank estimates that approximately 140 billion cubic feet of natural gas is flared annually resulting in more than 300 million tons of CO2 to be emitted into the atmosphere.
