The Walzem Road Revitalization area in Windcrest in northeast San Antonio, is starting the New Year off with another new business, a new Goodwill San Antonio store and donation station.

This newest Goodwill store is located at 5722 Walzem Road and opens to shoppers following an 8:00 a.m. Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, to be attended by city and state dignitaries.

“Expanding to bring Goodwill services into the heart of the northeast side of San Antonio has been part of our strategic plan, as we live and work in the community through our Contract Services unit,” said Marla Jackson, president and CEO of Goodwill San Antonio.

Remodeled from the ground up, this location offers a superior Goodwill shopping experience and a convenient donation station for individuals to drop off their gently-used donations of clothing and household items. The four-day grand opening celebration for shoppers and donors begins on Jan. 14 and goes throughout the weekend to Jan. 17, with free customer giveaways, live radio station activities, drawings for prizes and great shopping opportunities. Hours of operation for both the store and the donation station will be 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Sunday.

“This new store provides a great resource for the community, including adding 22 new retail and management jobs to the area. We are pleased to be participating in the Walzem Road revitalization project, adding to the economic development of this dynamic and growing part of our city,” added Jackson.
