According to preliminary data, in the period of January-December 2013,
146122 dwellings were completed, i.e. by 4.4% less than in 2012 (in which an increase by 16.8% was recorded) and by 11.6% more than in 2011.
In the period of twelve months of 2013, the number of dwellings for which building permits have been granted amounted to 138681, i.e. by 16.0% less than 2012. The number of dwellings in which the construction has begun also decreased to
127392, i.e. by 10.2%.

The highest share (55.5%) in the increase of the new dwellings stock was attributed to private investors who in January-December of 2013 constructed 81147 dwellings, i.e. by 0.1% more than in 2012. Compared to the corresponding period of January-December 2012, within this group of investors a drop was recorded in terms of the number of building permits granted to 78056 dwellings, i.e. by 11.4% as well as in the number of dwellings in which construction has begun to 72694 dwellings, i.e. by
8.8%.
Developers, in the period of twelve months of 2013, completed 57536 dwellings (which constituted 39.4% of the total number of dwellings completed), i.e. by 9.5% less than in 2012 (when an increase by 30.3% was recorded). Investors building for sale or rent received building permits for 56048 dwellings, i.e. by 22.4% less than the year before, and they have begun the construction of 51324 dwellings, i.e. by 10.6% less than in 2012.
Housing cooperatives in the period of twelve months of 2013, completed 3511 dwellings, i.e. by 16.3% less than in 2012. Housing cooperatives have been granted permits for construction of 1067 dwellings, i.e. by 41.0% less than in the period of
twelve months of 2012. The number of dwellings in which construction has begun amounted to 1389, i.e. by 32.5% less than the year before.
Other investors (municipal, public building society and company construction) in the period of twelve months of 2013, completed 3928 dwellings, i.e. by 3.6% less than in 2012. In this period, 2319 dwellings were completed in municipal construction, i.e. by 2.9% less than the year before, in company construction: 438 dwellings, i.e. by
18.7% less and in public building society construction: 1171 dwellings, i.e. by 2.2% more than in the corresponding period of 2012. The number of dwellings for which building permits have been granted increased in this group of investors to 3510, i.e. by
16.7% while a decrease in the number of dwellings in which construction has begun amounted to 1985, i.e. by 25.2%
