The World Economic Forum attracts over 2500 people, including government and business leaders, and policy makers from across the globe to discuss the economic challenges currently facing the world.

While in Davos, Prime Minister Abbott is meeting with world leaders to promote Australia and to discuss the G20.

"…it really has been an important opportunity to showcase Australia and to engage key policy makers on the issues that make a difference to the global economy."

Directed towards practical action, Australia's approach to its G20 host year will focus on two key themes:

  1. Promoting stronger economic growth and employment outcomes, and
  2. Making the global economy more resilient to deal with future shocks.

"We are determined that this year, under our Presidency, the G20 will be about real actions. It will be about specific outcomes on issues such as investment, infrastructure, trade, jobs and tax."

Prime Minister Abbott also met with B20 leaders to discuss their objectives for 2014.

The Prime Minister will make a keynote address on the G20 to the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday 23 January 2014 at 10.40am (GMT/UTC + 01:00) / 8.40pm (EDST).
