First 5 California’s Executive Director Camille Maben released the following statement in response to Governor Jerry Brown’s budget:
“After last year’s historic commitment between the Legislature and Governor to fully fund preschool for California’s lowest income four-year-olds, I am surprised to see no inclusion of this promise in the Governor’s budget. First 5 California looks forward to working with the leaders in both houses and the Administration in the coming months to ensure California puts children and their families first in this budget, beginning with making good on the state’s promise to fund high-quality preschool access for all low-income four-year-olds, and continuing our progress on restoration of high-quality child care access for infants and toddlers.”
