Gritting crews have worked since 5am, treating carriageway priority 1, 2, & 3 routes and some priority 4 routes where possible. The carriageway network is in good shape following repeated treatments over the last few days. Footway teams have also worked since 5am treating Priority 1 and 2 routes.

Grit bin filling work has been on-going. Many requests for bin filling are being received and this work will continue in to tomorrow in order to assist communities to self-help in residential streets.

Salt levels are currently high across the network. Conditions will be monitored overnight and we will react to snowfall conditions. Gritters will be out again at 5am treating priority 1 carriageway routes as required and then moving on to priority 2 routes. Work will also commence at 5am treating priority 1 and priority 2 footway routes.

You can learn more about how we prioritise gritting on our extreme weather page.
