FairWarning, Inc, a leading provider of solutions which expand trust in mission critical applications such as Salesforce, Electronic Health Records and cloud-based applications, announced today that it received rights to patents from the governments of Australia, Singapore and Malaysia for a system and method of detecting fraud and misuse using audit logs and other information within Electronic Health Records (EHRs). The patents further extend the intellectual property foundation for the company’s FairWarning Patient Privacy Monitoring solution.

The following are the patents issued in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia:

  • Australia: IP Australia – Patent Number 2013267064
  • Singapore: Patent Number 179489
  • Malaysia: Patent Number MY-151504-A

“Patient privacy and security is a global concern,” said Kurt J. Long, founder and CEO of FairWarning. “Governments around the world are encouraging the use of EHRs. They are a liberating force for clinicians, healthcare providers and patients, which enable better care, delivered faster, with greater safety and improved outcomes. But there are dangers. Unless patient privacy and security is built into systems at ground level there is the ever-present risk of major data breaches. As the use of EHRs grows throughout Asia-Pacific, we are pleased to have received patents for Patient Privacy Monitoring in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia.”
