Closer cooperation resulted in a project on HIV and AIDS prevention in the penitentiary sector that the RCSK Kyzylorda Branch developed and implemented in 2015 with financial support from the authorities. The Branch received a letter of appreciation for its HIV and AIDS prevention activities from the regional AIDS Centre.

In addition, the local Health Department plans to allocate funds for the Kyzylorda RCS Branch and partner CSOs for a project aimed at tuberculosis (TB) prevention among the most vulnerable population groups including former prisoners in 2017. Within this project the Kyzylorda Branch of the RCSK and partners will provide consultations, social support, directly observed treatment and other services for people with TB. Both HIV and TB prevention projects directly contribute to improving access and quality of services for vulnerable groups in Kyzylorda region.
