Education Sector Support Programme - Analytical & Capacity Development Partnership (ACDP)

The 'Analytical Capacity Development Programme' (2010-2017, EU contribution of €20 million) is a technical cooperation facility that supports analytical studies and capacity development to inform the development of evidence-based education policies and strategies. ACDP provides the Government of Indonesia with technical expertise and access to international knowledge and best practices to implement necessary reforms to achieve its education objectives. It is co-funded with AusAID and managed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The project is currently on-going and has commenced 40 studies and provides policy options to be considered by relevant Ministries of GoI. ACDP contribution agreement will end in mid-2017.

ACDP aims to contribute to the Government's efforts to strengthen the education system and performance through policy research, knowledge management, institutional and capacity development. ACDP is co-funded by the Australian Government/DFAT and the EU, managed by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs and the National Planning Agency (Bappenas) and administered by ADB.

ACDP has conducted more than 50 studies in relation to the education sector in Indonesia aiming at providing evidence-based policy options for the government at central and regional levels. The implementation of the studies and dialogues on the outcomes of the studies involve public entities as well as civil societies such as private schools run by religious foundations (madrasah), NGOs focusing on basic education, early childhood education and development, parents associations, religious and informal leaders, journalists, students, universities, academics, scholars, private teachers, teacher associations, research institutions, etc.
