Ecologic Brands (“Ecologic”), the premier and award-winning designer and manufacturer of paper bottles, is pleased to announce the appointment of two senior hires to its executive team. Sarah Bird has joined as Ecologic’s new chief commercial officer, and Bruce McKay as vice president of sales. Bird will oversee and enhance all sales and marketing activities for the company; McKay will lead sales.

Sarah Bird has more than 25 years of brand experience, a proven record of building brands and a deep commitment to doing well and doing good. Most recently, Sarah was CMO at Annie’s, Inc., maker of organic and natural pasta meals, snacks, frozen foods and condiments. Sarah began her marketing career at Frito Lay, and worked for Nestle and then PowerBar. She currently serves as Vice Chair on the Organic Trade Association’s Board of Directors and is a board member of Just Label It, an organization focused on federal GMO labeling. She also is a member of Wellesley College’s Business Leadership Council. Sarah has been named one of Ad Age’s Top 50 Marketers, and honored as a Brand Week “Marketer of the Next Generation.” Sarah holds an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College, and a BA from Wellesley College.

Bruce McKay has built a very successful career in the CPG Industry. He held progressive positions in marketing, sales and management in the Coffee, Beer and Pet Food sectors, before transferring to the packaging sector. In 2007, Bruce was recruited to develop a pet food-packaging portfolio at Alcan and has remained in packaging ever since, serving most of the large consumer packaged goods companies. Bruce has a Business Degree from the University of Manitoba and an MBA in Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. In addition, Bruce is the co-founder of the St Louis-based, Executive Connections Networking Group and freely donates his time to his favorite charity – the Oasis Food Bank.
