This year's EU Sustainable Energy Week will take place on 19 to 25 June 2017. It will include a Policy Conference, where new developments and best practice in sustainable energy will be discussed. A call for sessions at this conference has just been launched, as well as a call for nominations for the EU Sustainable Energy Awards. The deadline for both calls is 3 March

Organised by the EU's Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, the Policy Conference will bring together representatives from the European Commission and public authorities as well as energy stakeholders to debate policies, share best practices and explore innovative ideas in sustainable energy. The theme for the 2017 conference will be 'Clean Energy for All Europeans', following the package of measures on the clean energy transition that the European Commission published on 30 November 2016.

The EU Sustainable Energy Awards recognise outstanding innovations in renewables and energy efficiency, whether these are local initiatives or industry-wide programmes. The awards help to raise awareness of some the best new ways to promote clean, secure and efficient energy as part of the Energy Union. Projects are invited to apply for an award in one of the following categories: consumers; public sector; businesses; energy islands. Category winners will be chosen by an expert panel, while a fifth prize - the Citizens' Award - will be chosen by public vote.
