The financial impact of the work of the Business Ombudsman Council for Ukraine is equivalent to roughly 2.3 billion hryvnia ( around $100 million) since its launch last May, explained Algirdas Šemeta, the Business Ombudsman, on a visit to the EBRD.

The Council has received over 580 complaints from businesses, launched 340 investigations and resolved over 48 per cent of these cases, he said.

Ukraine is stepping up its efforts to combat corruption and improve its business environment and a central element of this campaign is its Business Ombudsman Council.

The Council is funded by the EBRD-Ukraine Stabilisation and Sustainable Growth Multi-Donor Account, which is supported by Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States
