Dmitry Skobelkin, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia, decided to pursue his career outside the Bank of Russia and will leave his office on 25 January 2022.

Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina:

'Dmitry Skobelkin has made an enormous contribution to the improvement of the transparency of the Russian financial system. Owing to his efforts, the amount of suspicious operations has decreased by 26 times since 2013. Over recent years, Dmitry Skoblekin has been working on the creation of Know Your Customer platform which is to be launched shortly. This platform will make it possible to minimise rejections of good companies and cut the cost of customer verification incurred by banks. Yet another milestone is cooperation with the Government with regard to the liberalisation of foreign exchange control and ensuring better business environment for exporters. These efforts include phasing out requirements on the repatriation of hard currency earnings back to Russia by non-resource companies which was supervised by Dmitry Skobelin.'
