Department for Employment and Learning : 26 January 2016 - Farry announces North Down Jobs Fair

Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry has announced that Bangor is to play host to a Jobs Fair for North Down on 25 February 2016.

The fair, which will take place in the Marine Court Hotel in Bangor between 10am and 4pm, has been organised by the Department for Employment and Learning in conjunction with Ards and North Down Borough Council.

Speaking ahead of the event, Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry said: 'This event brings employers, support organisations and jobseekers together under one roof. The Job Fair has something for everyone and I would encourage anyone, whether in work, unemployed or simply assessing education and training options, to explore the services which will be available on the day.'

Over 20 employers including Magellan Aerospace, La Mon House Hotel, Positive Futures, Kane Engineering and the Culloden Hotel will be recruiting at the event, and a number of support and training organisations including the Prince's Trust, South Eastern Regional College and Libraries NI will also be present. Advice and guidance will also be available on a range of training and re-skilling opportunities.

The Minister continued: 'A range of support organisations, including my Department's Disability Employment Service, Careers Service and Employment Service, will also be in attendance to provide information, advice and guidance on a range of training and employment schemes that can assist individuals to progress towards work and better employment prospects.'

A range of local employers will be available to answer questions and discuss training and employment opportunities. A free bus service will be running from Newtownards and surrounding areas to carry jobseekers to and from the event.
