WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Armed Services Committee and chairman of the Subcommittee on Strategic Forces, announced today that she will also serve on the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities (ETC).

'I am deeply honored to serve on three key Armed Services subcommittees. As the chairman of Strategic Forces, I will work to ensure a modern and effective nuclear deterrent, which is critical given the dangers we face in today's world. Additionally, through my roles on the other subcommittees, I will continue my efforts to improve how we man, train, and equip our cyber forces and provide them with the policy guidance they need to protect America in cyberspace,'said Fischer.

Fischer served as the chairman of the ETC subcommittee during the 114 Congress. This committee's jurisdiction formerly included cybersecurity. As chairman, Fischer worked to man, train, and equip our military's cyber force.
