In conjunction with the awards, Cylance’s CEO Stuart McClure is speaking at the CB Insights Innovation Summit event today, Jan. 12, on a panel titled: Cybersecurity's Next Steps: The Drive For Artificially Intelligent Defense Systems with Paresh Dave from the LA Times and Nagraj Kashyap from Microsoft Ventures.

“I’m honored that investors and thought leaders continue to take note of our unique artificial intelligence approach to cybersecurity,” said Stuart McClure, president and CEO of Cylance. “We’re starting to see the impact of AI in other industries, including automotive, healthcare and others. Our vision is for Cylance to continue redefining the cybersecurity industry with AI for years to come.”

Cylance was one of only nine companies included on the AI 100 list that has raised $100 million in a round of funding in the past three years. The CB Insights research team selected the AI 100 winners based on a combination of data submitted by the companies, responses to interview questions and the company’s Mosaic Score. Mosaic is an algorithm built with funding from the National Science Foundation that gives predictive intelligence into the health of private companies.

“From financial services to healthcare to transport, incumbent companies in every industry are seeing that AI will reshape their industries. And as so often happens, transformational innovation comes from emerging companies. In the case of AI, a lot of the groundbreaking work is being done by the AI 100. The companies in the AI 100 are accelerating research, improving efficiency, and making many game-changing advancements that will be felt for decades to come,” CB Insights CEO Anand Sanwal said.

Cylance has had a record year with analysts, media and investors taking note. The company is revolutionizing the way we protect endpoints through the use of artificial intelligence to proactively prevent advanced persistent threats and malware. Using mathematics and machine learning, the company is preventing the latest emerging threats and 0-day attacks targeting the world’s computing infrastructure. This past June, Cylance raised $100 million in Series D funding led by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities and Insight Venture Partners.
