Communications services companies rose amid deal speculation.

Shares of GameStop surged two days after the video-game retailer said it would remake its board, and as short-sellers bought back bets against the company.

Ubisoft Entertainment shares rose after reports that the video-game maker was collaborating with Walt Disney's Lucasfilm Games on a videogame set in the "Star Wars" universe. Shares of Electronic Arts, which has an exclusive "Star Wars" deal running until 2023, fell after the report.
