Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania : to Invest $2.8 Million in Charleroi Borough as Part of Pipeline Improvement Projects

Starting January 2016, natural gas customers in Charleroi Borough, Washington County, will benefit from Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Inc.'s infrastructure replacements.

Impacting streets: State Route 88, Grandview Way, Boltz Aly, Schafer Avenue, Arlington Avenue, Maple Terrace, Linden Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue

State Street project
Impacting streets: Phillips Street, State Street, Crest Street, Scott Street, Lillian Street and Rebecca Street

Construction will occur between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with temporary lane closures during working hours.

Benefiting customer will experience temporary service interruption, Columbia Gas will personally contact these customers to schedule service restoration. Customers will have their indoor meters relocated to the outside of the premises and their service lines replaced if needed. This work will be done at no additional cost to the customer.

All company and contract employees have photo ID badges identifying them as Columbia Gas employees or contractors. Customers are welcome to ask for ID before allowing anyone into their home or can call 1-888-460-4332 for Columbia Gas employee verification.

From 2007 - 2015, Columbia Gas invested nearly $1.1 billion in the modernization and expansion of its distribution system in Pennsylvania. Of that amount, approximately $845 million was dedicated to replacing 730 miles of priority pipe. In 2016, Columbia Gas will invest approximately $210 million in Pennsylvania, with more than $160 million being invested to upgrade aging underground infrastructure.
