ROAD ALERT

This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Department to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.

COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:

107th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and 8th Street North - On 107th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and 8th Street North expect intermittent lane closures, as well as times that the road will be CLOSED to through traffic, allowing local residents only, for approximately three months, weather permitting, as crews continue work to install sewer mains, stormwater drainage and water mains as part of the Collier County Public Utility Renewal Project. Paving is planned to start on Monday, Jan. 29 and continue for approximately one week. During road closures, a detour route will be posted. Flagmen will be used as needed, as well as advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.

110th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and US 41 - On 110th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and US 41 expect intermittent lane closures (limiting traffic toONE LANE ONLY), as well as times that the road will be CLOSED to through traffic, allowing local residents only, for approximately three months, weather permitting, as crews continue work to install sewer mains, stormwater drainage and water mains as part of the Collier County Public Utility Renewal Project. Flagmen will be used as needed, as well as advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.

Copeland Avenue (CR 29) between Demere Lane and Oyster Bar Lane - On Copeland Avenue (CR 29) between Demere Lane and Oyster Bar Lane expect traffic to be reduced from two lanes to ONE LANE ONLY through Spring 2018, while traffic is diverted to Phase I of the new bridge and Phase II is constructed. A temporary traffic signal has been installed and is operational 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Drivers are reminded to stay alert and expect delays. Final completion of the replacement bridge is planned in summer 2018, the project completion has been delayed by the impacts from Hurricane Irma. Motorist should obey posted signs and temporary signalization

Golden Gate Boulevard from 2nd Street NE to Weber Boulevard - On Golden Gate Boulevard from 2nd Street NE to Weber Boulevard expect eastbound and westbound travel lanes to be reduced from two lanes in each direction to one lane in each directionfor approximately two months OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews mill and pave the roadway. Flagmen, advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to assist traveler sin this area.

Immokalee Road and Oil Well Road Intersection - At the Immokalee Road and Oil Well Road intersection expect intermittent lane closures in all directions for approximately two weeks overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews perform maintenance on the traffic signal poles. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Immokalee Road from US 41 to Collier Boulevard - On Immokalee Road from US 41 to Collier Boulevard expect northbound and southbound intermittent lane closures for approximately one month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscape maintenance. Lighted arrow boards will be used to assist travelers in this area.

North 11th Street from Camellia Avenue to Roberts Avenue West (in Immokalee) - Expect the following intersections with North 11th Street in Immokalee to have intermittent lane closures, allowing local traffic only, beginning on Monday, Jan. 29 and continuing for approximately one week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews install new water lines as part of the Immokalee Water Line Replacement Project: Camellia Avenue, Mimosa Avenue, Santa Rosa Avenue, Immokalee Drive, Tyler Avenue, Forrester Avenue, and Roberts Avenue West. Detour routes will be posted. Advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Pelican Bay Boulevard - On Pelican Bay Boulevard between both access points off US 41 expect intermittent lane closures both northbound and southbound for approximately one month from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform landscaping maintenance. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North - On Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue Northand 101st Avenue North expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY through spring of 2018 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue installation of new water mains and stormwater drainage structures. 6th Street may be used as an alternate route for those travelers who do not have destinations in the construction zone. Advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist drivers in this area.

Vanderbilt Drive between 111th Avenue North and Wiggins Pass Road - The Vanderbilt Drive Bridge Replacements Project has progressed to working on the second of two bridges. The Vanderbilt Drive road closure has moved to the vicinity of Bridge Number 030177, located 1.2 miles north of 111th Avenue, over Little Horse Pass Waterway between Anchorage Condos (12945 Vanderbilt Drive) and Marina Bay Club (13105 Vanderbilt Drive). This closure includes ALL VEHICLES (INCLUDING BICYCLES) AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC (both northbound and southbound). A detour route is posted directing both vehicular and pedestrian traffic to use 111th Avenue, US 41 and Wiggins Pass Road during the needed construction. Construction crews are in the process of constructing the new replacement bridge over the next four months. During the current construction phase, reconstruction at the intersection of Vanderbilt Drive and the Marina Bay Club entrance is continuing for approximately one month. Also, traffic was recently shifted at the entrance of Marina Bay Club to the newly constructed roadway via channeling devices, to allow entering and exiting, as crews reconstruct the remaining portion of the roadway currently under traffic. Road reconstruction at the Anchorage Condominium entrance has commenced and flagging operations are being used to move traffic through the area. Electronic message boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

White Blvd. over Cypress Canal Bridge Replacement Project - On White Blvd. between Weber Blvd. and 31st Street SW over the Cypress Canal crews are progressing with constructing the new replacement bridge. This project is expected to be completed in summer 2018. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mphthrough the construction zone. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs, barrier wall and barricades, to assist travelers in this area.

WORK BY OTHERS:

Collier Boulevard between Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Lely Cultural Parkway - On Collier Boulevard between Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Lely Cultural Parkway expect southbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to one lane for approximately one week OVERNIGHT from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., weather permitting, as crews working for FPL replace power poles. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades, to assist travelers in this area.

Pine Ridge Road and Livingston Road Intersection - On Pine Ridge Road at Livingston Road expect the westbound right turn lane to be intermittently closed for approximately two months from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and OVERNIGHT FROM 8 P.M. to 6 A.M., weather permitting, as crews working for a car dealership handle utility and sidewalk relocations. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.
