The following information was issued recently by the Lowndes County Emergency Management Director Ashley Tye:

A Freeze Warning is in effect for Lowndes County from 2AM until 9AM tomorrow morning. This Warning was issued due to the forecast calling for a low temperature of 32 degrees overnight. As a result of this Warning we wanted to make everyone aware of resources available to anyone that does not have adequate warm shelter. Anyone needing shelter from the freezing temperatures can go to one of the shelters listed below to get out of the cold and have a warm, safe place to spend the night. The Salvation Army and New Horizons Shelters are open every night, but Grace Fellowship Church opens any time the temperature is expected to drop to 32 or below. They have indicated that they will be open both tonight and tomorrow night.

Salvation Army Emergency Shelter (Men Only)
