On February 15, 2018, the Police K-9 unit will be putting on a demonstration for Flynn Middle School students in Sterling Heights.

The demonstration will be involving K-9 Officer Steele and his two K-9s, Blitz and Ivy, and will showcase the great abilities of the department's K-9 program.

Ofc. Steele will show the students the tasks that the K-9s do on duty, including how a K-9 detects narcotics. Ofc. Steele is also going to do a live track and bit demonstration with a training officer.

This event will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the school. The seminar will highlight the training, enforcement capabilities and the community relations that the K-9s provide.
