Cincinnati, Ohio - The Lady Eagle basketball team returned to the court on Tuesday evening still in search of their first conference victory as they hosted KIAC opponent Asbury University. CCU turnovers and hot shooting from Asbury during the first half resulted in a 103-50 defeat.

It was a tale of two halves, and the Asbury Eagles used a big first half to cruise to the victory. Asbury did not waste anytime jumping on CCU, using the first five minutes to go on a 20-2 run. Turnovers by CCU were quickly turned into points from Asbury, which resulted in a 40-11 hole after the first quarter. Asbury did not stop there, using the second quarter to outscore the Eagles 25-9. The Eagles could not get anything to fall, shooting only 29 percent from the floor and 16 percent from behind the arc. Asbury on the other hand, could not miss and took advantage of CCU turnovers, and shot 60 percent from the floor, and 53 percent from behind the arc. The Eagles trailed going into halftime 65-20.

Having dug themselves into a big deficit, the Eagles came out in both third and fourth quarters and settled down and played better basketball. Asbury though did not need to do anything flashy by this point, thus resulting in the victory. The Eagles committed 25 turnovers for the game, which were turned into 37 points from Asbury. Also having a lot of bench players, Asbury outscored the Eagle bench 57-13. CCU was led by their only player in double figures Brianna Ruffin with 13 points. Asbury had four ladies in double figures.

CCU (3-12, 0-5) return to conference action on Thursday evening with a 5:30 tipoff against Brescia University. Come out and support Coach Snyder and his Lady Eagle squad as they continue their home stand.
