This change will only affect some customers.

Customers on income support payments aren't affected.

The changes only apply if you get Family Tax Benefit (FTB) or hold a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card (CSHC).

How you're affected depends on when you started getting the supplement and with which payment or card.

You don't need to do anything. The change will happen automatically. If you're affected you'll get a letter.

Your FTB Your Energy Supplement
Eligible as of 19 September 2016 Will continue unless there's a break in your eligibility for FTB
Become eligible between 20 September 2016 and 19 March 2017 Will stop on 20 March 2017
Became eligible from 20 March 2017 You won't be eligible
Eligible for FTB and receiving an income support payment You'll keep getting it with your income support payment, it isn't affected. Energy Supplement paid with your FTB may be affected. It depends on when you started getting your FTB
Your CSHC Your Energy Supplement
Eligible as of 19 September 2016 Will continue unless there's a break in your eligibility for CSHC
Claimed CSHC from 20 September 2016 and within 6 weeks of your income support payment stopping Will continue unless there's a break in your eligibility for CSHC
Claimed CSHC from 20 September 2016 and more than 6 weeks after your income support payment stopped Will stop on the 20 March 2017
Claimed CSHC from 20 March 2017 You won't be eligible, unless you're moving to a CSHC from an income support payment that stopped less than 6 weeks before claiming
