Chemtrade Purchases the Operating Assets of Hydor-Tech Ltd.

Toronto, Ontario, January 16, 2015 - Chemtrade announced today that it has purchased the operating assets of Hydor-Tech Ltd. ("HTL"), an Edmonton-based manufacturer of inorganic coagulants. HTL is a leading Western Canadian manufacturer of PolyAluminum Chloride ("PACl") that is widely used in municipal and industrial water treatment plants.

Mark Davis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chemtrade, said, "We significantly expanded our water treatment business in January 2014 with the acquisition of General Chemical. It is our intention to expand the products and services we provide to the water treatment industry and identified PACl as a priority for our expansion focus. This HTL acquisition, combined with our well advanced construction of a new PACl facility at our East St. Louis site, are the first steps towards this expansion. We intend to add additional PACl facilities in geographies where this product expansion is a value to our existing or new customers."

Chemtrade is the largest producer of inorganic coagulants in North America. As a member of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada ("CIAC") Chemtrade supports, adheres and promotes the Responsible Care® ethic and Codes of Practices. Responsible Care® is a global voluntary initiative of the chemical industry and is a unique ethic for the safe and environmentally sound management of chemicals and their use in our communities. As Mark commented, "We believe that our continually expanding water products, services and capabilities provides more choice to our customers. These choices when combined with our Responsible Care® ethic to produce, distribute and use our products for the benefit of our communities represent a compelling value proposition for our customers. We are excited to discuss this combined value proposition with current and future customers."
