Capella University and think2perform have partnered to launch the think2perform Research Institute (t2pRI), a non-profit organization focused on advancing leadership effectiveness by leveraging scientific research to inform and improve real-life situations. The institute will support, conduct and disseminate primary research, centered on business development.

t2pRI will create unique opportunities for Capella learners as they interact with clients, business leaders and authors to produce practical, evidence-based research findings that organizations can implement to improve business. They get the chance to bring real-world solutions to companies, network with leaders in their profession and demonstrate competence to potential employers.

“The t2pRI partnership creates an exciting opportunity for Capella learners and faculty,” says t2pRI Executive Director Dr. Bruce Fischer. Fischer is a founding faculty member of Capella University, and currently a senior core research faculty in the psychology program. “The fellows will help inform and improve leadership, employee satisfaction and organizational performance in real-life situations. They aren’t just scholars, they are practitioners as well.”

think2perform Research Institute fellows are chosen from Capella’s Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Science. Students can apply for the fellowship and go through a competitive selection process. After being accepted, they conduct high-level research, engage in cohort meetings, collaborate with the t2pRI Board, have the opportunity to present findings and receive a stipend for their work.

The Institute’s research focus will address crucial business topics, including:

  • Organizational leadership and culture
  • Employee engagement
  • Emotional and moral intelligence
  • Ethical decision-making
  • Values and moral development
  • Leadership styles and skills development
