Canada housing starts fall 22% in December - CMHC

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canadian housing starts fell 22% in December compared with the previous month as both multiple urban and single-detached urban starts decreased, data from the national housing agency showed on Tuesday.

The seasonally adjusted annualized rate of housing starts dropped to 236,106 units in December, below analyst expectations of 270,000 and down from a revised 303,813 units in November, Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation data showed.
