RADNOR, Pa., Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today Cabrini College announced that it would freeze undergraduate tuition during the 2015-16 academic year, and adopt a test-optional admissions policy beginning with the incoming class this fall.

The announcement comes just months after welcoming the College's largest incoming class in six years, a 29 percent increase over last year.

Tuition for full-time undergraduate students will remain at the current level of $28,932 through May 2016. The zero percent increase extends a pledge which the College made three years ago to keep tuition and fees under $30,000 until May 2015. Fees and room and board also will not increase for the 2015-16 academic year.

"The decision underscores Cabrini's mission-driven commitment to provide an Education of the Heart," said President Donald B. Taylor, Ph.D., who was inaugurated in October. "By freezing tuition and adopting a test-optional policy, the College is doing what it can to ensure that a Cabrini education remains affordable--and accessible--to motivated students of all backgrounds."

Cabrini's test-optional policy continues the College's holistic approach to the application process.

"There is ample evidence that standardized tests are not suitable indicators of student success," said Bob Reese, vice president of enrollment management. "That, along with high costs associated with the test, may hinder talented students from applying. This policy helps Cabrini find the best fit student who will succeed in the College's extraordinary academic program."
