Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine to expand the list of commodity items to apply countermeasures aimed to protect Ukrainian domestic market from the economic aggression of the Russian Federation. The Head of Government announced at the Cabinet's meeting on Wednesday, January 13.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk also stressed that the Government is engaged in consultations with the European partners on the implementation of the Free Trade Area Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, under which 'Ukraine and the EU should strictly adhere to all requirements, standards and rules of the World Trade Organization, including transit issues'.

The Prime Minister accentuated that the Ukrainian side appeals to the European friends with the 'appropriate 'menu' how to help us get through this tough economic stage, after Russia once again violated the bilateral and multilateral agreements in part of economic cooperation between Ukraine and the Russian Federation'.

'We believe to have an efficient dialogue with our European partners about how to meet this challenge', summed up Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
