Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia Statement on Plan Design Changes for the State Health Benefit Plan

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBSGa) is working with Department of Community Health (DCH) to implement the SHBP plan designs approved by the DCH Board this morning. The value that BCBSGa provides to the state and the SHBP participants is not affected by the plan changes announced today. We will continue to administer the SHBP in a way that provides cost savings and true value to the state.

Our local teams servicing the state membership are already hard at work creating updated ID cards and we are prepared to implement the benefit changes. We will continue communicating with SHBP members to ensure they understand their benefits, and the tools that are available through BCBSGa on how to improve overall health, which is a key driver of health care costs.
